Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy is the British wizarding school located in Highlands of Scotland. The school was first founded in 10th century by the four young witches and wizards, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Helena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. The school takes students from Great Britain and Ireland, rarely are there ever any students from any other countries.
The castle is located in the mountains near a loch. The schools precise location, however, is unknown due to the school being unplottable. To muggles the school looks like an old abandoned castle, most wizarding schools locations are protected in order to prevent their ways of teaching being revealed, as well as protect the students and schools themselves from any harm.
Established in the late 10th century. Hogwarts is considered to be one of the finest magical institutions int he wizarding world, although other notable schools include Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and Durmstrang Institute. Children with magical abilities are enrolled at birth, acceptance is confirmed by owl post at the age of eleven. However, if the child is muggle-born a professor from the school would come inform the parents of the child.

The highest position of staff at Hogwarts is the Headmaster or Headmistress. There is also a Deputy Headmaster or Headmistress, who will take over responsibilities of the Headmaster should the circumstances demand it.
Heads of Hogwarts[]
Headmaster or Headmistress is the chief administrator of a School. They make all major decisions regarding the safety and the day-to-day functioning of the school, and have the power to override any decision made by any other authoritative facilitator at the school, with the possible exception of the Board of Governors.
